This Thursday, Joplin's Java & Ragtime Cafe is hosting the CD release party for "Standing in the Gap" produced by Ken Hall and Jami Considine. All the Readings and music are to benefit KidsUganda! With specials guests, Emi Jarvi, Donna Jarvi, Scott Hall and Kim Minichiello. Come support a good cause!

When Ken and friends performed here in July, together we sponsored THREE children for a WHOLE YEAR in one afternoon! THANK YOU!!!

Short performances featuring the talents of Alexandra Main (Jeff-nominated actress and Gift Theatre ensemble member) Doug McDade (two-time Jeff Award winning actor), Jasmin Cardenas, Miranda Gonzalez, Maggie Graham, Less Boyd (Clockwise Co-Artistic Director), Mac Myles, and Icelle Anderson are on the program. Selected scenes include excerpts from Tanya Saracho’s Kita Y Fernanda and WALLS, Sci-Fi Series for the Stage by Madelyn Sergel, and represent the diverse offerings Clockwise brings to Lake County’s arts scene. This Friday, a fresh new face is coming to Joplin's! Laury Shelley is an amazing, dynamic Chicago singer who has toured for over 5 years with Grammy & Academy Award winning composer Michel Legrand. She has also performed with jazz greats Phil Woods, Ron Carter, Grady Tate and Randy Brecker. For this show she is being accompanied by Tom Muellner on piano, Jim Cox on bass, Phil Gratteau on drums, and David Gross on trombone. Tom Muellner, who has performed at Joplin's Java many a time, is one of Chicago's hottest jazz pianists. Laury's voice will MELT YOU! This evening will be absolutely unforgettable!
